My poor little kitty...and other things...

It's obvious the people I got Bingo from didn't take good care of him or his siblings. I noticed he was pretty small when she held them both up (the 3rd one had already been taken). I chose Bingo because the other male looked more sickly. Bingo just looked underfed. He's been in our home for a little over 2 weeks now and eats like a freakin' horse. He gets a bit angry if you try to touch him while he's eating...something I've only seen dogs do.

Anyway, the vet was surprised by how small he was after I told him the woman said he was about 8 or 9 weeks old. He weighed him, then took him to the back and put him on a gram scale. Bingo is 1.4 pounds and is apparently only 5.5 to 6 weeks old now. Meaning he was only 4 weeks old when that lady gave him to me. How horrible to take a baby away from his mom so early. They're typically weened between 8 and 12 weeks.

He had his shots, was dewormed, and has to go back in 3 weeks for a booster. He's completely litter box trained (as of 2 days ago), and completely healthy other than the worms.

In other news, my parents start their trek to California on Monday. I'm glad they're driving only 6 hours a day. I'm jealous for two reasons, 1. they get to go back to Monterey and 2. they get to see Candice. Nick asks me why I don't talk to her very much and my answer (and it's 100% truthful) is it makes it easier. It's hard not seeing your family, especially a twin. Nick and I have decided we will for sure be visiting her again now that we're on East Coast.

Nick's mom canceled her trip here. I'm a bit relieved. She intimidates the shit out of me. I made her son move across the country. I took her baby away and have made him an insta-dad. I understand she's only looking out for her son, but her son is now 27 and made the decision on his own to move across the country. My motivation to potty train Pieter before 3? Nick's mom. I was apparently lazy and he should have/could have been potty trained the second he was able to sit up...she didn't say this directly but it was 100% implied by her and Nick. It's a Russian thing for sure. I wanted to make sure he was out of diapers by the time she came to visit and I accomplished that. He doesn't even wear pull-ups anymore. I'm not only proud of my son, I'm mother fucking proud of myself for those HOURS AND HOURS I spent in the bathroom reading books and watching movies just to get him to poop in the potty.

I'm going to end this here with a picture of my little man swimming. He's gotten really good!
