Lucky Guy!

I haven't written in while, blame Nick. My laptop has apparently been opened and closed too much so the monitor comes on only when it chooses to. I think I've just had it for a really long time and need an upgrade (*hint*hint*).

Pieter was lucky this year and got to celebrate his 3rd birthday twice. We took him to Chucky Cheeses on his request. For some reason that place was nothing like I remembered, but than again the last time I had gone was like 10 years ago. Pieter loved it and I threw down on the basketball game. Pieter walked around proudly wearing his Chucky Cheese birthday hat Danielle and Josh bought him.

For his second party our neighbor hand made a Spongebob cake for Pieter. It turned out pretty good (the look not the taste). She used her homemade frosting that tasted like she had dumped and entire container of Almond Extract into. Everyone at the party ate it, but I'm pretty sure regretted it after haha! Pieter didn't even like it so he put his napkins on top of it and said it was going "night night."

The past 2 weeks have been exciting not only with Pieter turning 3 but because we just found out Danielle and Josh are having a baby :-) You can read her story here. She ws complaining about her boobs hurting so I sorta knew and told her to take a preggo test. When it came up positive I was screaming and shaking and way too excited I think. It was nice to celebrate the news with a couple that actually loves each other :-) Of course the idea of me having another baby immediately entered my mind. How exciting would that be for Nick and I? I brought up the topic with Nick and as usual got shot down. I'm not asking for a child right this second, duh....but I'd like to have one before I turn 30. I'm about 95% sure Nick will never be ready, but he needs to stop suggesting the idea when he's drunk because it's for sure getting my hopes up.

Anyway, this past Saturday Nick and I joined our neighbor Penny for a night out on the town. I was dreading it the second she asked but I'm too nice to say no. We headed to Charleston a little later then I would have liked to. Her neice agreed to watch Pieter, but I wasn't all that comfortable with that. She was in a pissy mood and throwing the f-bomb out any chance she got. Luckily Danielle suggested she get him and did so about an hour after we left. I finally was able to enjoy myself. We left Charleston and ended up at a bar here in Summerville. I liked the place because everyone was super friendly. Nick hated it because he hates everything that's not his idea. "Too many hicks." Eh, we're in the South...wtf do you expect right?

Nick hasn't been feeling so hot this past week. His mother and I talked him into visiting a Dr. I went with him because he was nervous and the Dr. was a bit concerned about a swollen lymph node in his tummy. Three viles of blood were drawn and a pee test taken, and we should find out the results either today or tomorrow. I'm hoping it's nothing.

I have so many pictures to share but don't have my computer sooooo too bad ;-)

3 years old....what???

My little baby is 3 years old today :-) It doesn't feel like it's been 3 years! My pregnancy experience wasn't what I expected. It was scary and tiring the labor/birth was hard and incredibly painful. I would go through all of it again...my son was SOOO worth it :-) Here's some pictures from birth to now...it's insane how fast they grow!

I love you Monkey Man more than you will EVER know :-)

Oh snap!

I know this is completely random, but I've been checkin' my legs out lately and for the first time in like 10 years I have somewhat of a tan! I also have super cute freckles on my knees :-)

Anyway, Nick went with Josh last night to look at cars and came back determined to get me a new ride. I'm down. Chris used my car as if it was a work truck so it's got some scratches on it that I'm tired of looking at. I'm also interested in getting a manual. Here's what we're looking at today. Nick wants these:

And I want this ;-)

Best Weekend So Far...

Who knew I could actually like the neighbors that live below me. Not gonna lie, Nick and I were a little disappointed because we knew we could no longer throw down up here. No more heated arguments, kick-boxing tourneys, or fun games of chicken with Nick's AR...we ACTUALLY had/have to be quite. My biggest concern was Pieter's random tantrums and elephant stampede-like sprints from his room to my room in the mornings. Lucky for us the new neighbors turned out to be pretty awesome.

The weekend was pretty fucking fun, a few get togethers and game nights. Nick was dyed and pierced (I did an awesome job with the ear piercing tyvm!). Here's my man's sexy legs...

Here's my almost 3 year old (on the 17th) thinking he's on his way to school :-) He really can't wait to go!

And, oh shoooooot! I'm now at 2g! Sorry the pic is blurry...

Tongue update and our kitties

I would NEVER get this piercing again. But rather than point out all the negatives, I should mention I've now lost 7 pounds and have stopped biting my nails. I'm still eating mainly soft foods (ice cream, mashed potatoes, soup etc.), but did attempt to eat salad yesterday. Afterward my neck was incredibly sore. Instead of going back to the piercing place I decided to put my own shorter bar in and did so with a 12g rather than a 14g. 14g is just too thin and is why my tongue tore a bit (hence why I've been in so much effing pain).

Anyway, we got a new kitty this past Saturday. We have been looking for a while now and decided to go to the local Pet Helpers to find a kitten. It was one of the nicest animal shelters I have ever seen, and lucky for us it was half-off adoption weekend. We got a beautiful black (with faint striping) 9wk old boy. Nick named him Rasputin (I know). Our kitties are complete opposites and we were a bit nervous introducing them. Bingo was NOT happy for a while, but Raspy schooled him and now they seem to be best buddies.

Not sure why I do this to myself...

I tend to find the saddest things to watch or read and then sob my eyes out. This blog has tons of readers and I've been glancing at it from time to time. It's sad, and I couldn't even come close to imagining what it would feel like to lose your spouse. I specifically went through and looked up the entries listed under "Liz." I read each one, looked at every picture, and listened to the sad songs her husband posted. After this, I went into my room and cried cuddling up to Nick while he slept. I don't want to imagine my life without him and Matt's blog just reiterated that.

ANYWAY, I'm not sure why I'm in a sad mood. I think I'm just super tired and I'm a bit overwhelmed with this tongue piercing. It's been 5 days of pain and no eating. My tongue tore a bit the first day (bc the bar was so long I couldn't even close my mouth to swallow...stupid piercer) so it's a bit more painful than normal. Imagine moving your tongue a certain way and every time you do so you have an intense feeling of being stung by a bee...that's what I feel whenever I eat. I've lost 5 pounds. I wouldn't do it again.

Today Nick and I are going to go see Harry Potter while our neighbor watches my little man. It's nice having someone live so close. I watch her son, she watches mine and no money has to be exchanged. However, I'm still nervous. My son is my world and if anything ever happened to him I don't know what I'd do. He drives me fucking insane, but I love him more than I could love anything.

Here's a video Pieter's God dad made :-)
