Old Towne Charleston

I'd like to start out by saying that I've been in S-H-I-T-T-Y mood the past few days and I fully blame my woman problems...and maybe because Nick's irritating me just a little shhh....

Anyway, all in all today was pretty full and fun. We didn't have much really planned, and the rain spoiled the one plan we came up with. We'll just have to reschedule the swamp boat ride for next week, no biggie. Nick has been telling me that he wanted to show me downtown Charleston pretty much since he started working (after his coworkers brought him to a pub/restaurant there). So that's where we went. We drove around aimlessly trying to find a parking spot not knowing Saturday was like, duh the busiest day EVER! We finally found a parking garage and guess where Nick wanted to park? Hmmm, if you guessed the first empty parking spot available you would be wrong. We parked on the very tip top...I'd say about 8 loops of hell with Nick behind the wheel. He's lucky I didn't puke in his lap.

After parking and getting the stroller and Pieter out, I realized I left the sunscreen at home....GREAT. Nick began shooting pictures immediately. I just uploaded them and have come to the conclusion that I do NOT like the camera pointing up at me. Straight on is okay, and pointing down at least gives the illusion that I'm skinny. That picture will not be viewable by anyone but God. I've also decided I hate when someone takes pictures and doesn't say ready, 1-2-3. Here's the best shot of Pieter and I...hmm.

We took the elevator down and made our way to the Charleston farmer's market, which I RAN through after Pieter noticed they had the bounce houses out. Of course I let him jump. The farmer's market was pretty decent, but it wasn't part of the plan...my plan. Nick's plan was just to go with the flow, something I'm not really good at doing. I like to have everything planned to the last second and get extremely agitated if we step away from what I've written down. So, I tried to have fun. We walked quickly through the rest of the vendors and all of us were starving so the next stop was this BBQ place we saw. I walked in and was overwhelmed. The place was packed...the only restaurant around that was this packed. I walked in with this gigantor stroller and couldn't move. The waitress offered to put the stroller by the door and I swear to you I couldn't take my eye off of the stroller the entire time we were eating. (Side note: my little man went potty like a big boy at the restaurant and went the entire day without peeing his pants...HOLLA!)

We finished lunch, had a brief fight...my fault as usual. We continued to walk all the way to the water. The entire time I couldn't help but worry about Pieter getting fried. Turns out I did...damn karma. Here are a few pics of what we saw.

On the way back from the ocean we stopped for some ice cream and Ben and Jerry's. I'm surprised the stroller even fit in there. We decided it was worth sitting down and eating on the outside patio rather than walk around watching Pieter get vanilla ice cream all over himself. He still managed to get it all over himself as well as me. When he finished we let him walk around a bit and he climbed up and tried to taste this guys scoop...yup, he's my child.

We made it safely back thanks to my super cool iphone map.

I'm now sitting on my futon mattress, Nick's on his laptop, Pieter's on Nick's desktop watching Russian cartoons, and I love it. Hopefully my sunburn won't hurt tomorrow....and I also hope I'm not in a foul mood either.
