It's been 2 weeks now.

It's hard to believe that we've been here for 2 weeks today. It's been interesting adjusting to this environment. Nick and I had lived together previously, but we also had 2 others living in the same house. Basically, it never got boring. Here,we find ourselves trying daily to find something exciting to do.

We've been pretty successful, well sorta. We ventured out onto this trail I found behind the complex to see where it went. Turns out it was incredibly muddy and basically went to these office buildings that we pass by everyday. I had forgotten to eat so I got cranky, and Pieter was beginning to be a pain so I suggested we turn around. Nick said no, so Pieter and I did. We made it about half way back when I decided I needed to take my top off...I had a tank top underneath...bc it was EFFIN HOT. Anyway, Pieter and I made it back quickly and when we reached the top of the stairs I realized Nick had the key to the apartment. I took my phone out of my back pocket to find Nick had called a few times. I called back and he said he was almost there. He came up the 2nd set of stairs and was covered in mud. Only then did he admit I was right, that it was a bit too muddy to keep going haha.

We've been taking Pieter out to find frogs every once in a while. He seems to enjoy watching Nick pick them up and throw them in the little lake. One of the frogs was huge, and when Nick picked it up it quickly went into defense mode and peed all over Nick. He won't admit, but he went home after and googled warts caused by frogs...I saw the search...shhh!

We're quickly discovering that chiggers S-U-C-K. All 3 of us kicked back in the grass waiting for the frogs to appear and now my elbows are covered in bites and itch like crazy. Nick has a few bites on his fingers. Pieter, well, he made it out safely....lucky kid.

This past weekend Nick found a pretty neat plantation. There were a number of things to do there and we decided we would do one every weekend. Saturday we decided to visit the swamp. Basically they built a wood trail on top of the swamp. It was pretty amazing and we saw a number of creatures. We saw a snake, alligator, a duck with her babies, a bunch of turtles, birds, and strangley a bunny? This weekend we're going to take the boat tour...maybe...I want to take the house tour :-)

Anyway, I've got go get stuff done. It's already 10:30 and I've done NOTHING.
