What a long day

So maybe Pieter could sense my fear when I went to bed. Watching Paranormal State before going to sleep last night was not a smart move on my part. Pieter's been sleeping through the night for a long time now, but there are the occasional nights where he's waking up every other hour for no real reason. Last night being one of them. He was wide awake at 12:30am then again at 5am so I cuddled with him in his bed till he was asleep again. I'm thinking he might be catching a cold.

I had completely forgotten to get some photos gathered for Pieter's art project he's working on for Mother's Day, so Pieter and I headed to Walgreen's at 7am this morning. I sorta figured he'd be exhausted so I didn't bother putting him in a shopping cart. Who knew a 3 year old would have that kind of energy with only 4 hours of sleep? I headed to the photo desk, turned my back for literally 1 second, turned back around and Pieter was gone. I knew where he was, obviously we had JUST past the toy aisle so I went straight there. Before I could even turn the corner I was being beaten by not 1, but 2 foam swords! I wish I was that energetic at 7am without coffee.

We headed to his school a bit early because it was raining today. It was my first day driving my car alone in the rain. I was a bit overwhelmed because all the little buttons and shit are in a completely different location than my old car. I'm sure people gawked at me at every (9) red lights I hit on the way there. Anyway, we made it safely. I love that Pieter enjoys school as much as he does. I hope he keeps that attitude throughout high school and college.

I received some exciting news today! My mom will be coming to stay with me while Nick's in London :-) Pieter is ecstatic about it. He loves his grandma more than words.

I guess I'll end this blog with a few pictures. I've been trying out some new techniques lately...enjoy!
