Contacts...

I'm not gonna lie, I was scared to death about yesterdays appointment. Bad mood all day scared. So I decided to stay busy to keep myself from getting to throwing up scared. I took Pieter to what's going to be his new school. He starts preschool on Tuesday and I'm INSANELY excited about it. The lady at the front asked Pieter if he wanted to meet his classmates and Pieter jumped off his chair and followed right behind her to the classroom. His new teacher instructed the kids to say hi to Pieter and rather than cower behind his mother, he waved and said hi right back. He then told everyone he was 3 and that his name was Pieter. That, right there, is MY man.

After all the paperwork we headed to target to get the man his new backpack and lunchbox. I allowed him to pick out one snack for his lunches and he chose Scooby Snacks. Totally my mom's grandchild.

While Pieter was walking about the apartment wearing his backpack I decided to try out my new camera. It's definitely nicer than the one I've been using, but it's going to take a little practice to be 100% comfortable with it. I'll post some pictures once my new computer is finished being built.

So, the eye appointment. The ladies in there have told me a few times that I crack them up. Let me explain. I've had glasses since I was 6 months old. When I'm not wearing them I'm incredibly self conscious: a) because I can't see a damn thing and b) because I really can't see a damn thing. Rather than hide my crooked eye behind my right hand I just start with the jokes.

Yesterday I had to "learn" how to put contacts in my eyes. Let me tell you, it was like watching Deadliest Catch unedited. Every other word out of my mouth was well, sailor-like. I kept dropping them and had to ask the lady to find it for me because she wouldn't let me put my glasses back on. It was comical.

After getting them in, they tested my sight and were excited to find out I was able to see 20/10 with them in. We left and went straight to the store to get me some Guess sunglasses I had been eyeing.

Is it weird that I still push my glasses up when they're not on my face? I wonder how long that will last.
